Truth or bluff? That was the big question at the Assembly Rooms in Chichester on Friday 2nd October, as Paul and Ashif, the owners of Cavavin, supported local charity FABIS with a brilliant "Call My Bluff" evening. With 90 guests, a panel of very convincing fibbers and a fantastic cause at the heart of it all, it was a night full of laughter, community spirit and plenty of raised glasses.

Truth or Bluff?
If you've never played Call My Bluff, here's how it works. A panel is given an obscure, wonderfully odd word, and each panellist offers a definition. Only one of them is telling the truth, while the others are bluffing their socks off! It's then up to the audience to decide who's being honest… and it's much harder than it sounds.
The Assembly Rooms in Chichester was the perfect setting for the evening. Its grand, historic room was buzzing from the moment guests arrived, with friends old and new catching up over a glass of wine before the games began.
A Panel of Very Convincing Fibbers
Let's just say some of our panellists were worryingly good at keeping a straight face! Each round brought gasps, groans and plenty of belly laughs as the room tried to separate fact from fiction. Even the most confident guests found themselves well and truly bluffed at least once, and that was all part of the fun.
For Paul and Ashif, the evening was a perfect example of what Cavavin is all about: bringing people together over good wine, good company and a good cause.
About FABIS and Why We Support Local Charities
What Is FABIS?
FABIS (Friends of Acquired Brain Injury Survivors) is a registered charity based right here in Chichester. It was founded by Trevor Hines, whose own family has experienced the impact of acquired brain injury first-hand, and it exists to support survivors of acquired and traumatic brain injuries, along with the family members and carers who support them.
A brain injury can change life overnight, not just for the person affected but for everyone around them. Recovery can be a long journey, and it can often feel isolating. That's where FABIS comes in. The charity runs a support group in Chichester offering free activities and social events, giving survivors and their carers the chance to connect, have fun and share experiences with people who truly understand. FABIS also helps fund holidays for eligible survivors and their carers, offering a much-needed break and the chance to make happy memories together.
Importantly, FABIS puts its beneficiaries at the centre of everything it does, listening to what they want and need, and shaping its events and support around them. It's a small charity with a big heart, and the difference it makes to local families is enormous.
